Hypmic 101

Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle (Hypmic for short) is a music-centric multimedia franchise created by Japanese record company King Records in collaboration with Otomate, known for their otome games catering to a female audience. It combines seiyuu-performed anime songs with rap delivery and hip hop-inspired production. First debuting in 2017 as a series of singles and albums, it's since spawned eight manga runs, two anime seasons, two stage play series, two mobile games, and a 3DCG movie.

The premise: After World War III, the all-female Party of Words staged a coup and took over the Japanese government, banning all weapons and effectively demoting men to second-class citizenship. Japan has been restructed into "Divisions" where men reside, while only women are allowed to live in the central ward of Chuo-ku.

The main cast consists of six teams of three men each for a total of 18 emcees. Each team represents their hometown Division in rap battles: three representing different wards of Tokyo, one representing Yokohama, one representing Osaka, and one representing Nagoya. Hitoya and Jyushi are members of the Nagoya-based team Bad Ass Temple.
